Life Is Precious

I was just reminded how precious life is. Wes King, who was at one time a fairly popular Christian Artist had a song called "Life Is Precious." Here's the lyrics....

Life is precious, life is sweet
Like the earth beneath my feet
Though I know I'm passing through
I know I belong to You
Life is precious, life is sweet
And this truth makes it complete
Knowing Jesus died for me
Life is precious
Life is precious, life is sweet

I'm very sure I don't appreciate the life I have nearly enough. Most of the time it takes us getting hit between the eyes with something before we stop and take inventory of life. At this moment, "thanks Jesus for my life, my wife and kids and for the life you continue to bless us with."

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

How many times have you heard that phrase, "here today, gone tomorrow?"  It's usually connected to some kind of new movement, sales promotion (especially multilevel), great idea that will never last, or whatever the latest fad is.  Like New Coke, these things don't stick around. They're a great concept, may even be a good product, but they never last.

As a new church, many times that same phrase is often used.  Well it's here now, but they don't have their own facility, or whatever you want to put after the "they're here now phrase.  Jesus called himself the Alpha & Omega, beginning and the end.  As far as I can tell, we're still in the middle of that somewhere, which means that as long as we continue to serve the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob, we're not going anywhere either!!

Stick around and watch as God continues to change the conversation in our cities and uses us to do it!
